Two young women have died after a pick-up plowed into the back of a car, creating a five car pileup in Santa Fe. The crash happened just before 10 p.m. Friday night on Cerrillos Road. Investigators say a white pick-up truck plowed into the back of a car, creating a domino effect. Two people in the backseat of the car impacted hardest have died; a teenage girl and another young woman, transported to St. Vincent's Hospital in critical condition who later died from her injuries. Police arrested the driver of the truck, James Ruiz. Authorities say this is his fourth DWI. According to the courts, jury selection for his last DWI case was set for this Wednesday. Currently, he's facing two counts of vehicular homicide, and driving with a revoked, suspended license. Bernalillo County deputies say alcohol also played a role in a deadly overnight accident on I-40 near Rio Puerco. Officials say around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, three teens were riding in an SUV that was speeding westbound on I-40, when they tried to pass a semi truck and rolled over, landing in the eastbound lanes before coming to a rest in a ditch. One person died at the scene, another was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A third teen was found at the Route 66 Casino and was taken to the hospital and was treated for minor injuries.
